It is my understanding that there is no way to Edit or Delete a product note! Why? That's data entry 101. If you can't do that, then it USELESS!!
Hi Scott, you are correct in that Product Notes aren't removable to preserve historical integrity.
Only the most recent production note is going to show up on work orders, so you don't need to worry about the work order getting flooded with the entire correspondence. Just ensure that the most recent note is up-to-date.

Oh, I don't worry about it. I still think it's useless, because if a note is incorrect, then you have to add another note to say "ignore the previous note". This is just a note - what historical integrity? If historical integrity is the purpose, then you shouldn't be able to edit an order, right? A note is WAY DOWN ON THE LIST from every thing else you can update in program. I don't believe that answer. I believe it's bad programming.
I know this is an old thread, but if a customer sends me a note, I have an alert set so I see it, but if I answer their note from notes, are they notified through email or do they have to go back to their portal and keep checking to see if I answered?
Many of us clone old order for a client which is so much quicker in building a new order. However, that does not mean that we want or need the same product notes to be carried over or kept. Most times the cloned order gets some modification and not being able to modified the product notes on the cloned order creates problems on the work orders that then require manual pen/pencil edits so as not create confusion. there needs to be edit capability, at least on cloned orders, or cut and past parts.
