CoreBridge Support will meet with you via a web meeting for your 1st Sync. If you're in a time zone where accounting support is not currently available via a web meeting, a support agent will typically be able to adjust their schedule to accommodate your 1st Sync meeting. If you're working with a corporate partner please perform your 1st Sync with their assistance. If you get errors and cannot successfully complete a 1st Sync on your own, please reach out to support@corebridge.net for assistance.


NOTE: We recommend not performing a first sync on your own. 

A support agent will need to confirm your setup then will meet with you for your first sync.


STEP 1 – Complete Preparation Steps

You must review and complete the necessary steps in all articles outlined here prior to proceeding.

STEP 2 – Performing Your 1st Sync

Do not continue until Step 1 has been entirely completed. If you have questions please open a support ticket before proceeding.


NOTE:  If you get errors and cannot successfully complete a 1st Sync on your own, please reach out to support@corebridge.net for assistance.


Make note of your GoLive! date. If you don't know the date, use the earlier of your first order date or your first payment received date in CoreBridge. You can sort by date for orders and payments in the Sales Module.

  1. In CoreBridge, navigate to Accounting Module > Accounting Export.
  2. Click on the Account Setup tab.
  3. In the field labeled "Sync Start Date:" enter your GoLive! date.
    • This date is set only once, during your 1st sync. You do NOT need to enter a date each time you run a sync.
  4. Click Save Account Setup.
  5. Wait for the settings to save. If settings were saved successfully you'll briefly see a message with a black background stating Online Account Setup Saved.


  6. Click on the Setup tab.
  7. Click Connect to XERO. This starts the authorization process.
    • NOTE:  You must use the default URL assigned to your CoreBridge system. It is in this format: xxx.corebridge.net
  8. A new window will appear.
  9. Select your Xero company then click Allow access for 30 mins.
    • The sync is available for 30 minutes. Once the 30 minutes expires, you must re-authorize CoreBridge with Xero again in order to sync.
  10. Click the Sync tab.
  11. Click Begin Sync.
  12. The Sync Progress tab will display sync activity.
  13. When the sync finishes successfully, you may close your browser or navigate away from the page in CoreBridge.



What to do if you get failed items

If you get failed items during a sync, they must be addressed so that Xero will have complete records. 


For each failed item, click the link under the column labeled Failed Items. A new window will open showing the record that failed along with an error message. Read the message carefully in order to understand why the error was generated. The fix could be either in CoreBridge or Xero. Once you've fixed the issue, run a sync again.


If you are unable to fix the issue, CoreBridge support will be able to assist. There are 2 methods for contacting support regarding sync errors.

  1. When you have failed items, a Troubleshoot Problems button will appear. Click the button, enter your email address, then click Submit. That process will log all errors on your system. It will also automatically open a CoreBridge Support ticket. When using this method you'll get an auto-reply from our support ticket system. If you do not get an auto-reply in 10 minutes, you'll need to use method 2 for reporting failed items. If you encounter browser errors when trying to use this method, you'll also need to use method 2.
  2. To manually report errors, click each Failed Item and take a screenshot of the window showing the record that failed along with the error message. Open a support ticket either through the CoreBridge Support portal or via support@corebridge.net and attach all screenshots. Be sure to list "Xero Sync Error" on the subject line. If you've never submitted a ticket before, please include your CoreBridge URL on your ticket so that an agent can identify your system. This is the yourdomain part of your CoreBridge URL. Example: yourdomain.corebridge.net



STEP 3 – Performing a Sync After Your 1st Sync

Once you've successfully completed your 1st Sync, you'll need to regularly perform syncs, preferably in conjunction with your daily CoreBridge Reconciliations.


NOTE:  The Sync Start date is set only once during your 1st Sync. You do not need to enter a date each time you run a sync.

  1. In CoreBridge, navigate to Accounting Module > Accounting Export.
  2. Click on the Setup tab.
  3. Click Connect to XERO to authorize CoreBridge.
  4. Click on the Sync tab.
  5. Click Begin Sync.
