Overview
Tax Groups are one of the primary components utilized in determining the sales tax of an order.
During Step 1: Order Details of new order entry, upon selecting a company the "Sales Center" for the order will default to the primary contact's Sales Center. In addition, since all orders have a default destination of In-Store Pickup, the Tax Group will automatically be set to the In-Store Pickup Tax Group for that specific sales center.
Note: Your desired In-Store Pickup Tax Group can be specified under the Management Module > Locations > (Your Selected Location> Tax Groups page.
After you have added all of your products & parts to the order, Step 3: Finalize Order will allow you to adjust the delivery method. From this screen, you are able to adjust the Delivery Method, Sales Center, Tax Group, and Order Contact as desired all from this single page without having to go back to Step 1: Order Details.
Delivery Method: In-Store Pickup
When utilizing this method the Sales Center will default to the Sales Center of the order contact and the In-Store Pickup Tax Group for that specific will be chosen by default.
Pickup Location
The Pickup Location will allow to override the actual pickup location if desired. The list of Pickup Locations will be determined by how many separate locations you have in CoreBridge, in addition, you can manually specify the location by choosing Other from the drop-down menu.
As you adjust the Pickup Location you'll notice that the Sales Center and Tax Group will automatically change to match the default settings for that specific Location as specified under the Management Module > Locations > (Your Selected Location) > Tax Groups page.
The Sales Center and Tax Group selections can be manually overridden at any time to achieve your desired pickup location, sales, and tax treatment.
Delivery Method: Delivered, Shipped, Installed, Freight / LTL
When utilizing these methods the Sales Center and Tax Group will be cleared.
Customer Location
Once choosing one of these delivery methods, you will be prompted to choose the Customer Location for the delivery, shipping, installation, etc. Upon selecting the Customer Location the Sales Center and Tax Group will default to the values that are specific to those Customer Locations as defined on the company record for the order.
As with the prior delivery method, The Sales Center and Tax Group selections can be manually overridden at any time to achieve your desired customer location, sales, and tax treatment.
