The Production Module manages the workflow of your production department. This module contains several queues that separate each job based on current Status.  This allows you to quickly see and update Product Statuses as they move through the workflow. You have the ability to refine your queues with filters, as well as assign responsibilities & Product prioritization. It also allows you to manage your installation, delivery, shipping or pickup by the Product.

Note: Employees with access to this module typically include Production Manager and Production Staff.

Table of Contents

Key areas of the Module:

a. Production Queues:  Each queue will list the products with the appropriate Product Status.

NOTE:  When Destinations workflow is enabled, the Installation, Delivery, Shipping, and Awaiting Pickup Queues will be organized by the destinations on the Orders, rather than individual Products.

b. Scheduling Queue:  Allows you to have Calendars for Machines & other production related scheduling. For more information, please see Resource Scheduling.

c. Queue Filter:  If you would like to filter your Product list for specific information, select the filter to refine your results.

d. Queue Prioritization:  Set the priority & responsibility for each product. For more information, please see Queue Prioritization.

e. Assignments:  Assign Products to a specific employee or employees.

f. Invoice Number:  Select the Invoice number to be directed to the Product View page.

g. Product Number:  This indicates the Product number, ie: 1/2 indicates this is Product 1 (one), of a 2 (two) Product order.

h. Orange Icon:  Click here to be directed to the Order view screen.

i. Proof Icon:  When this icon is outlined, a proof has been attached to this Product. Click on the icon to view the Product proof.

Filtered Search

Filtering options are available in every queue, allowing you to search for products that fit a set of criteria. Production employees can sort jobs associated with a specific machine or a particular material to conserve time and drastically reduce waste by completing those tasks altogether.

Products vs. Orders

Products, not Orders, are listed in the queues. This means that if a particular Order has four different Products associated with it, each one of those Products will show up as a different Line Item in the queue. This allows each Product to move independently of the other Products in the Order. If one of those items is held up for some reason, it won’t prevent the other Products from advancing through the workflow.

a. Order Number
b. Index Number - This appears as the Line Item of that Product and shows the total Line Items in that Order (example: 1/4, 2/4, etc.)

Production Workflow

Once a Product is completed, you will change the status to BUILT. This moves the Product from the WIP (Work in Progress) queue to one of the four BUILT queues.

Note: If email notifications are turned on, this will automatically send an email to the customer notifying them of the update.

  • Awaiting Customer Pickup
  • Awaiting Installation
  • Awaiting Delivery
  • Awaiting Shipping

Once the Product has been picked up, delivered, shipped or installed, the Product Status will need to be updated by either a Production employee or a Sales employee.  This also removes the Product from the respective queue and notifies the Sales department, so that a payment can be collected if applicable.

Note: If email notifications are turned on, this action automatically sends an email to the customer, notifying them of the update.
