Machines help you define the equipment used to produce your jobs so pricing, scheduling, and production planning stay accurate and consistent. Adding cost and setup information for your production Machines is a key part of configuring your CoreBridge system; once complete, you’ll be able to track Machine Costs, Disposable Costs, and Machine Labor whether you’re using Cost-Plus or Market-Based pricing. During order entry, selecting the correct Machine also ensures items flow to the appropriate production queues for easier management and tracking.
Important Details
- Machines are associated to Parts; when Parts are used during Order entry, you will be able to select from your list of associated Machines.
- A Machine can have several Profiles. A Profile lets you control pricing factors related to the machine.
- Machines can utilize the Layout Manager during Order entry.
- Offset Press Layout Modifiers are only available with Sheet Fed Machine types with the Machine is an offset Press checked.
- Machine Cost per Hour should not include Labor or any related disposable costs, these costs are captured on the Machine Profile.
Creating and Editing Machines
Whether you’re adding a new machine or updating an existing one, you’ll follow the same setup steps. You’ll use this screen to review the machine’s basic details, confirm its costs and profiles, and then save your changes so pricing and production calculations stay accurate.
Navigate to the Management Module / Machines.
1. Select Add New Machine or Select an existing Machine from the list to edit.

2. Select the Machine tab.
3. Enter Machine Information.
a. Machine Type - This is based on the feed type of this Machine.
b. Machine Detailed Name - This identifies the exact Machine and is only visible on this page.
c. Machine Nickname - This will be the name used in the system.
d. Machine Cost Per Hour - This does not include Labor or Disposable Cost.
Note: For help calculating the cost per hour, click the Machine Cost Worksheet link.
e. IP Address - Keep track of the IP address for future reference, if desired.
f. Location - Enter the physical location of the Machine to help with scheduling.
g. Enable Calendar Scheduling - Checking this box will automatically schedule this Machine for the appropriate jobs with run time and setup time included.

4. Enter Machine Profile information.
a. Select Profile - Use the dropdown to select a Profile.
Note: Each Machine must have at least one Profile. Additional Profiles can be added by clicking on Add Profile.
b. Machine Profile Name - This name associates the Profile to the Machine and is only visible if there are multiple Profiles on a single Machine.
c. Disposable Cost - Disposable Cost includes items that need to be replaced, such as ink.
d. Initial Setup Cost - This is a flat cost that will be added to the calculated Machine cost for every job that uses it. If there is no cost associated with the Machine setup, enter 0.00 here.
Note: This is a one-time cost. It is not added per quantity.
e. Initial Setup Time - This is the time in minutes it takes to set up this Machine for each job. If there is no time necessary for setup, or you do not wish to take it into consideration on calculations, enter 0.00 here.
Note: The set-up time is added to the total time needed for the machine regardless of quantity. This is a one-time set-up, therefore this time will not be added for each quantity.
f. Labor Percentage - This is the percentage of time an employee must be with the Machine during operation.
Note: If multiple employees are needed, add their time together. For example, if two employees need to be with a Machine full time, the percentage is 200%.
g. Weighted Value Multiplier - This option allows for this Machine profile to adjust the cost of the associated Part.
Note: 100% is the default value and results in no change.
h. Use Machine Margin Charts - This option allows for detailed price adjustments.
i. Use Different Disposable Cost for 2nd Side - This option allows for a different disposable cost to be entered on the second side of a double sided Part.

j. Override Part Income Account - By default, revenue for work produced on a machine is posted to the Part’s accounting settings. You can override this behavior if you want to track income at the machine level instead of by Part.
k. Override Part Price Calculations - This option overrides normal price calculations and uses the values entered here instead.
l. Override Part Second Side-Adjustment Percentage - This setting affects Cost-Plus parts by increasing the price of the second side to cover the additional costs incurred.
m. Enable Layout Manager - Enabling this will show a graphic during Order creation allowing you to see how finished items fit on the selected Part. For more information, please see Layout Manager Overview.
n. Profile Speed Settings - Profile speeds can be edited at any time by clicking on Edit.
5. Click Save Machine Settings.
